If You Dare – A.R. Torre Review

If you dareThis is book 3 in the Deanna Madden trilogy by A.R.Torre and you can find my review for book 1 here and book 2 here. This may contain spoilers for book 1 or book 2 but I’ll try and put a little note before I include the spoilers and there will be no spoilers for this book.

As with the second book in this trilogy I enjoyed this a lot more than the first book, but it’s probably on par with the second book.

This book was also told in several different POV’s and also in different tenses as we have the present tense and also the past which is trying to piece together the events that led up to Deanna’s incarceration. It was nice to see everyone’s POVs and their thoughts behind everything that was happening, especially the detective for Deanna’s case.

We get to know a bit more about Simon, one of Deanna’s neighbours who locks her in at night and who has been in the previous books and he has a bigger part to play in this book. We get to see more of Mike as he helps Deanna try and figure out what the hell is going on. I don’t really want to say too much about the other characters as it wi spoil the book but I really enjoyed getting to see the continues development of Deanna’s relationships as people find out more about her and she ventures out more.

The plot was interesting and from reading the blurb, you obviously go into the book knowing that Deanna is in prison, we just don’t know what for and how she got there as in the previous books she’s been so careful. There were a few points in the book which were unrealistic and seemed a bit too easy but overall, I enjoyed the premise of this. I

I thought this was a good conclusion to the trilogy. Yes, more books could probably be written if A.R. Torre wanted to ever carry this on but at the same time, it is also a great final book and wrapped up a lot and I was happy with it all it ended which is nice. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the trilogy; it’s something that’s different from a lot of other thrillers that have been written and it’s definitely worth picking up and trying the first book if you can!
